[Thiiiiiis was certainly not where he was expecting that warp gate to send him. Not to mention the train is kind of missing now, and he's pretty sure he's inside a building of some sort]

Zelda? Where'd you go?

[The kid gets to his feet and look around, a little awestruck by the place. It's fancier than anything he's seen before, barring maybe Hyrule Castle. But that's an exception really. Castles are supposed to be fancy. Maybe he's in a castle? Except it sorta reminds him of a school, only bigger...

Link is very confused]

[Oh. Another Link. The older one he met wasn't the one he knew, fortunately. But Byrne had run away from all of that, not wanting anything to do with anything he had encountered in Hyrule.

But he is sure that he knows this particular Link.

He stops dead in his tracks as his eyes confirm it. His past was indeed catching up with him. What he wanted to run away from.]

[He turns and blinks at seeing someone he knows. At first he's wary, because Byrne hasn't been the best person to him and Zelda. But then, he'd been betrayed too, hadn't he? And Zelda was going to forgive him. So Link would too.

He smiles instead, turning to face the man] Byrne! You're here too?

[A smile. Was the kid that naive? Or was he proud of the fact that he bested him in battle? It was a mixture of disgust, sorrow, pity, and fright that he experienced.

Why did he have to be here...

Where was the princess then?

He finally responds, little emphasis in his voice.]

[Link was always naive. But he would always forgive what had happened. He knew there was good in Byrne. That was all that mattered]

What is this place? [Looking around again] It's not the Dark Realm...

It's a school. Smash Academy.

[So he's caught. It would be cowardly to run right now.]

A school? Huh...that's kinda a weird name. What do they teach?

Oh, the strange things he finds on patrol. Shadow glances around. Where's Resetti? Nowhere to be found? Good. Yes, good.

[He turns at the voice, and blinks a little at Shadow. Not a creature he's ever seen before. But he's used to strange creatures enough that it doesn't bother him too much, so long as they don't attack him]

[Wait. Isn't there already a Link on the roster? He swears that he's seen that name amongst the names of other students.

Pfeh. Whatever. Two person with the same name. Not a big deal.]

A combat school...so people learn to fight here? [That's kinda neat! But...] Why? What are they learning to fight for? [Link's a little worried. Are there good people or bad people here? Why are they learning to fight?]

[Because not even he can. He's the Ultimate Life, intelligent beyond many mortals' comprehension, but even his own mind had to remain within reason. He's no end-all be-all fountain of knowledge. SHEESH.]

That's true, I guess it'd be hard to know what everyone wanted to do. [He shrugs a little bit] I was just worried that it was some evil plot by the Demon King. But I guess he wouldn't have had time to set up something like this. [Looks around again, impressed by it]

[He just. Kind of stares at this kid flatly.
