+ 1 Robot
[So this was what a human school was like...! X had heard stories (well, by 'heard stories' he means seen bits about it on those daytime television shows that played on Dr. Cain's TV set in the lab; he always preferred to have something on when he was working as background noise), but he'd never thought he'd actually be in one.
Wrapped in his uniform, he couldn't help but stare at everything with a bit of wonder. He was going to be going here! At a school! Learning and spending time with other students, and...
...maybe Dr. Cain was right. Maybe going to school and spending time away was what he needed to cool his head.
Though his expression hardly belied any introspection; in truth, he just looked like a kid in a candy store.]

So he stands to the side, staring at you as he scratches his head.]
.........?
no subject
...He stopped, stared a minute.
He didn't look weird, did he--
--no, of course not! Why would he look weird? They were probably just shy. He scratched his head himself, walking over.]
Uh...hi.
no subject
...Hi.
[Sig, master of conversations.]
no subject
Are...you a student here?
no subject
Sig gives a slow nod in response.]
Student.
...Giant hands made me into student here. Was chasing bugs before that.
[...Way to make things confusing, Sig.]
no subject
[Maybe he didn't go to school, and he just preferred playing outside instead?]
no subject
I like bugs. Catching bugs is my hobby.
[If he had the choice, he'd be running after insects all day. He at least knows the importance of school, so he does go to class when needed, though.]
no subject
It'd be an absolute shame if some unscrupulous character decided it would be funny to grossly mislead this clueless bright-eyed newcomer for no better reason than shits and giggles, of course. Better to have someone perfectly kind and selfless and well-meaning get to him first.
So, of course, there's suddenly a tiny little beanie baby(??) making itself at home on X's shoulder. Lucky him.]
You're new.
no subject
--before hearing it talk. What was it; some kind of animal-type Reploid? It didn't look like any he'd seen, but it wasn't exactly right to judge by appearances, so any questions of that nature were swallowed down.
Instead, he smiled sheepishly.]
Yeah, I am. How could you tell?
no subject
Because I know everything, of course.
no subject
What do you mean?
no subject
[He slides lazily off X's shoulder, falling halfway to the ground before he catches himself, floating slowly up to roughly eye level.]
Ah, but how could a creature like you have possibly known about that? This is your first encounter with the divine, isn't it?
no subject
But that wasn't right. It was true that humans had worshipped various gods throughout history, but there was never any scientific proof OF the divine, or divinity. Either this strange creature was really sure of himself, or it was the truth.
Either way...]
I...guess it is. I'd always thought that a God would look...well...
[...Not adorable. Burning bushes, that sort of thing.]
...different.
no subject
[Beat.
...Aaand an impish little giggle, and he does a little loop in the air.]
Just kidding. ♥
My name is Uxie.
no subject
I'm X. It's nice to meet you, Uxie.
[...what title did he give this strange thing, anyway? Was it male? Female? He didn't want to offend it and call it by the wrong gender.]
no subject
No need to tell me that! I know who you are, you darling machine, and I know why you're here. Terribly exciting, isn't it? Even I can tell how eager you look, and I've had my eyes closed this whole time.
no subject
It is! I've never been at a school before; it's all really new to me.
no subject
[Clearly, floating there is tiring work. Uxie instead deposits himself on top of X's helmet. Yes, this looks like a cozy vantage point.]
You're twice as lucky, too, because your tottering steps away from the horrible shroud of naivete are among your own kind. Did you know you're not the only machine here?
of course i give you shadow of /course/
Well, that's something he doesn't see every day.
He whips around, very inhuman, red eyes peering into him. ]
... Could you just not choose between two outfits?
[ His voice is a little scary, deep and velvety like silky sheets, but he won't bite much, right? ]
Sorry for the delay \o\
Dr. Cain had taught him a lot of things, but...]
Um...am I...supposed to? I don't really know how this works.
[Sure he'd seen it on TV, but he did see robots wearing human clothes over their armor. Was he supposed to take it off? It was a bit embarrassing to walk around without his armor, but...]
TAKE YOUR TIME BB <3
[ This one is either from a vastly different culture or incredibly naive. Either way would be very likely and plausible, truly, and he is more than willing to find that out. This one definitely stands out for more than just wearing his clothes strangely. ]
... What does that armor denote?
[ It has to be for some sort of reason. Is this boy really a warrior? ]
<33
This?
It's my over-armor. All my weapons systems are installed in it. I can take it off, but I didn't know if I was supposed to here.
[And he feels oddly naked without it on. Sure he's showered with it off and slept with it off, but those were really personal instances. It'd be like walking around with his clothes off, even if he was actually wearing human clothes.]
Re: <33
[ Okay, now he is significantly surprised. Some child like this, capable of handling weaponry to the point of receiving well-crafted armory? It's rare that Shadow is ever impressed, but he might just be. Slightly.
He raises a brow, cupping his chin with his index fingers as he leans over, observant. ]
Just what are you?
no subject
I'm a Reploid.
[As though that's the simplest thing in the world. Wait. What if this person hadn't heard of Reploids? People from various places got sent here, right? So then...]
Think of me...like...a really advanced robot.
no subject
... That can't be, though. Surely this kid is lying with the whole weapons system deal. He can't certainly be... ]
Hn. Tell me what you really are. I have no time for games.
no subject
But I just...
[Did he need proof? He'd figured that the armor would have given him a clue.]
Do you want proof?
no subject
[ He folds his arms, his foot tapping once, twice, thrice.
Come on, `robot`. He's waiting to see what you can do. ]
no subject
[X ends up folding his hand into his armor, and out pops his buster cannon.]
See? This is my X-Buster.
no subject
I see. That is proof enough.
Despite that... [ He looks up to him inquisitively. ] I am interested in seeing what else you can do.
no subject
Still, he finds himself smiling a little.]
Well, with my armor on I can access my X-Buster, my variable weapons system, as well as various sensory-assistant programs in my helmet that let me see things that normal humans can't. I've never used a lot of these since I haven't had to, but it's nice to know that they're there in case I do need them.
no subject
[ Lest Resetti unleash havoc. He swears he can't leave him for longer than an hour before he starts tearing things apart... but he's still got a few minutes. ]
Give me your name.
no subject
Oh, I'm sorry if I kept you.
[X extended his non-buster hand to shake.]
I'm X.
no subject
[ He stares down at the hand and gives it a nod. That is all X is getting; acknowledgment. ]
... Shadow. Shadow the Hedgehog.
no subject
Though he put his hand back at his side, he didn't seem upset by the lack of handshake; after all, some people didn't shake hands. No big deal.]
It's nice to meet you.
no subject
Mm.
[ He twists towards the direction he was originally heading, but before leaving, he tells him this: ]
We will be in touch.
[ Another rarity. Congratulations, X; looks like you've made a friend. ]
no subject
...but he can't help but feel happy. Did he make his first friend? For someone who didn't really have much of a social life outside of going shopping for Dr. Cain, making smalltalk with the shopkeepers, and talking to the ultra-cool Zero from time to time, this was a pretty cool thing.]
I'll hear from you soon...Shadow.
no subject
[ He finally steps away, but not without his tail swishing, easy to be noticed. His ears swivel, just in case the robot follows him, but he sincerely doubts he will be. That is, not unless he's like another certain blue creature he knows.
What X can't see is the small smirk rising on his visage.
"This one may be of good use..." ]
I couldn't resist...
Sorry, fresh out of those. We DO have some brand new Gun Pointed At The Back Of Your Heads, just came in.]
asdfashdlfkj 8D
Well, shit. Have a deer-in-the-headlights look for a split second before his X-buster comes out, Vile.]
What are you...?!
[Was people randomly pointing guns at you a normal occurrence at this school?]
