[ Have one N Harmonia approaching said Vaporeon out of absolutely nowhere. Where did he materialize? Was he watching her? Oh, goodness, that's not creepy at all. ]

Are you lost, little friend? [ He drops to his knees to be at her level. Maybe that'll show that he's of no harm! Right.

That is, unless his unsettling following around was enough to give off that inflection. ]

[ Subtle as she would have liked to be, Vaporeon's jumpiness was clear as day as she shies away from the newcomer. Is he a regular civilian? A Pokemon trainer? She couldn't tell. Thoughts of jumping into a lake and disappearing cross her mind, but the desire to learn about this unfamiliar territory she stumbled upon keeps her rooted to the ground.

But, hey.... He did say, "little friend" so maybe he has some good intentions... right? With a slight, but ever-so-cautious nod, Vaporeon weakly said, "Yes, and I don't know where I am." However, it simply came out as... ]

V-Vap... Vaporeon....

[ Well, thankfully, N could understand her! She sounded so shy, and even displayed it so blatantly. The poor thing! Had she been abused by humans to be this uncomfortable with them? Perish the thought. ]

Well, you are in Smash Academy, an esteemed school for humans and Pokemon alike. Do not worry; I mean no harm.

R... Really? You won't hurt me?

[ Easing up somewhat, Vaporeon was a little surprised that he was actually able to understand her. It has been a long time since she last made contact with humans, so she was still full of unease and doubts. She was also confused at the idea of a school for both humans and Pokemon. Was it a school for Pokemon training, maybe? ]

Of course not.

[ N was a bit of a socially awkward presence, but he was still a warm one, inviting and kind to any Pokemon. He reached a hand forth, yet he stopped short, unsure if that would throw the Vaporeon off. He would like to pet her, but was it even okay? ]

I would never harm any Pokemon. They are all my dearest friends, moreso than my fellow humans.

[ Well, that was something Vaporeon has ever heard come from a human before. Was there actually someone who would hold them more dear than other humans? Strange, but she didn't dislike the thought.

When N reached out a hand, Vaporeon initially jerked away. However, as he held back, she stared at him and his hand interchangeably. Somehow, she had instinctively thought he was going to hit her at first, but that didn't seem to be the case. Maybe he really was as kind as his warm aura gave off. Vaporeon couldn't be 100% sure, though a small part of her wished it to be true. In the end, she decided to play it safe and observe him a bit more. She just wasn't ready for that kind of human interaction yet. ]

I... Since... Humans....

.... How can you be so kind?

Well... humans are not always so kind, but there are some who understand.

[ He rested both hands on his knees again, displaying that he was going to keep them to himself. N wasn't about to break into Vaporeon's comfort zone if she wasn't ready to open up. He knew that some Pokemon didn't take very well to that. (Yet he's still the type to get up in personal space without fear. As long as there's no disapproval, why not?!) ]

Have the humans treated you badly?

[ This poor girl must have gone through some abuse to be this frightened. ]

[ Vaporeon appreciated that he refrained from approaching her any further. It helped her feel a bit more comfortable with him. ]

...Some, but not all. I cannot say that all have been bad as I used to have some very kind trainers. It is just... since they have passed away, their relatives have not been very pleasant to be with. Other humans that I have encountered with afterwards, as well.

[ Vaporeon opened her mouth slightly to say more, but chose not to. She simply sulked and adapted a gloomy air. ]

Those humans...

[ N gave a growl, almost like a defensive Zoroark protecting her babies. ~~practically what this is tbh~~ Not all humans were bad - this, he finally knew - but those who were... He condemned them. They deserved nothing more than to eat infected, festering trash. ]

I am so sorry that your friends have passed away. It sounds as though you loved them very much, but their relatives...

[ He squeezed his eyes shut, balling fists onto the ground beneath them. ]

Humans are so cruel.

[ Vaporeon was a little scared, and worried to say in the least, to see N's reaction to what she had said. It was the first time she had met a human who seemed so compassionate towards Pokemon and yet... How to say, lacking in some compassion towards humans. She'd felt a bit bad to put him in this state, as he seemed to truly care about not only her well-being, but the well-being of Pokemon altogether. Now she started to feel guilty about her behavior earlier and wanted to make up for it somehow. ]

Um... I'm sorry. Please don't feel bad. I'll be alright.

[ She approached him slowly and nuzzled his hands to get them to relax. After all, this whole time he's been trying to comfort her, so she felt that she should at least do the same in return. ]

[ Oh...

Well, that did lighten up his sagging little heart, bringing it to plump, thumping joy again. How could Vaporeon's newfound comfort not make him happy? There was no way it'd fail. ]

No, do not apologize. Some humans are simply wretched, and yet...

[ N smiled and took this opportunity to wiggle his fingers a small amount beneath her slick fur and skin. He just wanted to see how she'd react to movement and touch. If she was calmer now, maybe he could pet her. GOODIE. ]

[ The touch had her slightly squirming with its unfamiliarity, but it began to fill her heart with joyful anticipation. Would he really pet her? She couldn't remember the last time anyone did that for her. A smile crept its way onto her face and she leaned her head in hoping for more affection, not realizing that her tail had already begun swaying from side to side. ]

[ VICTOLY.

N didn't pet her roughly, not like some humans would carelessly do. He was gentle, giving her nice, long, yet soft stroke from her head all the way down to her tail. She definitely felt a bit slippery, much like a dog bred for water with a thin, shiny coat. She was really pretty and beautifully formed. ]

Is this alright? [ He just had to make sure. ]

[ Vaporeon was a little too happy to reply, so she gave a small excited squeal and nodded at N. Her anxieties were already far from her mind as her calmness shifted into giddiness. Sweet Arceus, does that feel nice.... If at all possible, she had hoped he wouldn't stop. ]

[Alert alert, Pokemon in need. Zen to the rescue! A lumbering Rhyperior moves over, slowly so as not to scare the poor thing. Rhys raises his arms, pointed one to each side, to show he did not mean harm, and speaks in the mysterious language of 'mon.]

You look like you've seen better days.

[ Vaporeon, not knowing what to say at first, simply sat still for a moment. She had never seen a Rhyperior before and was really at a loss on what to think. As he didn't give off any feeling of danger, she figures that it'd be safe to speak to him... For now. She's always ready to bolt when things take a turn for the worst. ]

Ah... Yes. I guess you can could say that. Do you live here?

[He put his arms back down. Stepping over to sit beside the poor thing.]

Well, I used to. Just here for a visit now. I take it you don't live around these parts, by your expression. What's got you stuck here?

[ Vaporeon fidgeted a bit at his proximity, but tried to relax as best she could. He really did seem like he just wanted to talk and help her out. She felt a bit down from his question, though. ]

I... I don't really know. I didn't mean to come here. It just... sort of happened. I can't really explain....

[ Now Vaporeon just felt silly, but she truly was at a loss regarding how she got here and why. Hm.. perhaps it was that suspicious looking tunnel ~~(no, it was a wormhole)~~ she swam through that led her here. ]

I'm sorry, that most likely didn't make sense. May I ask you whom you're visiting?

Oh, do not worry so. That story is perfectly common here, unfortunately. I myself come by choice, my trainer lives here, as well as most of my team mates. It is nice to see them on occasion.

We come from Kanto, originally, and I stay there most of the year.

[Well. THAT was an interesting little Mer-Dog, wasn't it? Vaporeon. He'd read enough about them to know one by sight, even if this was the first he'd come across.]

[She'd find his speech in this form easy enough to understand.]

...Yes. Um...

[ Vaporeon was a little mystified. It was the first time she felt in her life about questioning whether another was a Pokemon or not, but... She couldn't very well come out and ask about that sort of thing, can she? That would be downright rude, in her opinion. So, she decided to just let it go for the time being. ]

Would you happen to know where we are?

I absolutely do. We're at Smash Academy. A Fighting school in Final Destination City, which itself is in the middle of a veritable landslide of universes.

[He padded over on all fours and sat down next to her.]

There are a lot of Pokemon and trainers here, so, you're in good company.

Fighting school...?

[ Vaporeon didn't particularly like the sound of that. The 'universes' part seemed to make sense though, and helped clear up some of the questions she had been keeping in her mind. But....]

...Trainers? [She didn't really think that could be considered as good company.] So we're at a school where Pokemon trainers battle with their Pokemon? [The thought of it all depressed her.]

Sometimes. Not always. My Partner and I have had a few Pokemon matches here, but I spar myself and--ah, you're probably not used to seeing a trainer who's not Human, eh?

[Or at least, didn't look like one.]

I... wasn't aware that nonhumans could become trainers. [ In her head she wondered that, by being a trainer, did that mean he wasn't a Pokemon? Then what was he exactly? Well, in any case, knowing that fighting was optional made the school seem more appealing to her. ]

I actually look Human most of the time. I'm a Werewolf. I can either look like this or like a man with silver hair.

[He didn't blame her for not having heard of it. It was only possible in this place, and she was new.]

Charmed, Chiyo. And I am. I take it you're not here by design yourself? Get lost and kind of wander in, eh?

[ That... really sounded amazing. Chiyo couldn't imagine what it'd be like if she could transform into a human. She pushed the thought aside and gave a sort of nervous laughter. If Vaporeons could actually turn red from embarrassment, then... well, she'd be purple. ]

Ah... Yes. I did get lost alone and suddenly found myself here. It's kind of strange.... [ She suddenly wondered if it was a normal occurrence to have visitors appear from out of nowhere. ] Did you already know about this school beforehand when you came here?

In a manner of speaking, yes. I knew about another, similar school on the other side of the city called Capcom High. I went there first after having seen it advertised in a flyer back in my own home. Strangely enough, there are ways to travel back and forth between worlds that seem relatively mundane. My Pokemon partner and I travel back to her home in Kanto every so often. If you're not of a mind to stay here, I can even help you get back to where you need to be, if you'd like that.

[ Chiyo thought back to her home and her eyes trailed downwards. As much as she loved the cabin by the lake back home, her trainers no longer resided there. In short, there was no longer anyone to go home to, and Chiyo was terribly tired of being alone. Seeing as her first encounter seemed to be going well, she hoped that the rest of the residents would be just as welcoming. She fidgeted slightly, wondering what she should do. ]

...If it's okay, could I actually choose to stay here? I... Well, I don't have anyone to go back home to anymore. [ She tried not to be depressing as she said that. ]

[Jon nodded. He could empathise with that all too well.]

Certainly. As I said, there's plenty of Pokemon as live here now. You can become a part of the school as a student, or if you've something you can teach, you could apply to be a teacher. There's no reason for you to leave if you've not got a mind to go.

[He gave her a toothy smile.]

You'll probably want to get a Human form if you're going to do either. Just so happens, I can help with that and all.

H-Human form?! Is that really possible? I'm not a werewolf, though.... [ That bit of news came as a bit of a shock to her. Was that even something you could normally learn? ]

Um... I suppose I'd like to be a student. I don't have any special knowledge in particular that I can offer to others.

[He reached into the pocket of his trousers and fished around for a moment before bringing out his wallet. He opened it up, thumbed through it a moment before pulling out a photograph of a silver haired man and a red haired girl who happened to have wings and a long tail with fire at the end of it.]

This is me and my partner, Riwane. She's actually a Charizard, but was taught the Humanization TM. The school keeps a stock of them for Pokemon students who've not been taught the technique. [ Lord almighty, it's a Jolteon. Vaporeon just about flipped at the sight at the electric Eeveelution. ]

Um! Eh, nowhere! Just please don't shock me!

C'mon. Do I look like the kind of guy who'd do that to someone I just met?

[She might not be so keen on venturing this far in as a rather unhelpful presence is keeping an eye on her. For what seems to be the longest time, she remained unseen until finally, her voice was heard from behind the Vaporeon.]
