testing...
[In a lonely corner of the cafeteria is a stranger with a big stack of paper. He looks like he's pretty hard at work, but upon closer inspection it appears he's just doing a bunch of folding.
Envelopes... Who folds envelopes these days? More importantly, what sort of deranged maniac sings a song about folding under his breath while he is?
As he works he starts to focus more on lyrics that rhyme than folding envelopes, and eventually...]
Orange...? No, that's not right. ...What rhymes with orange?
[...He loses steam completely and stops to survey his work.]
...Ah. I'm never going to get paid for these ones...
[The kid looks at the clock and then stares ominously at the handful of envelopes he botched. Darn it... He's still got a lot of paper left and a lot of time to kill so he stacks up his failed attempts and moves them aside, then begins folding something else.]

I am sorry whoever you are.
Hello!
hahahaha
He stops what he's doing and stares. ...And stares... Slowly and silently, he slides the paper away from FIRE LIZARD. If he looks very confused that's probably because he is.]
... Hello.
Let me just...use the worst icons for this.
[She asks, not used to anyone she knows folding envelopes.]
I don't know what you're talking about, these look wonderful
[He answers, not sure what Fire Lizard is even supposed to be.]
... What are you?
fffft thank you!
[Blink blink.]
We're a bunch of creatures who can assume human forms thanks to the school, pretty much.
no subject
[So... Not Persona. Well, somebody isn't hip with the news that creatures can turn into people and it's quite a shock. What if there are cat people...]
Because of the school? That's amazing...

He's completely and utterly speechless. He's seen dragons and he's seen people with wings and stuff, but besides one beary strange individual, no creature he's ever met has been able to turn human or switch forms without trying to kill him.
He tries not to break eye contact as he stands up, approaches slowly, and... pats her on the head to make sure she's real.]
Alas I have to go to bed soon, I am sorry but he is ADORBS
Is that a purring sound.]Are you kidding me he's such a dork (good night, btw!)
Cat senses tingling... Must spend time with cat...That... Shouldn't be cute. But it's cute. (Not that he would admit it.) You got a smile out of him, Charizard!]
Cool. How's it work...?

no subject
I can't understand you...
no subject
She'd have to find paper elsewhere. Like in the loneliest part of the cafeteria.]
Excuse me!
no subject
Hm?
no subject
[She leans forward and presses her palms against the table.]
Can I use some of your paper? [She pauses, giving the sad-looking envelopes a critical stare.] What are you making?
no subject
[He stares at the envelopes when she does.]
They were supposed to be envelopes...
no subject
What happened to them? They don't look like envelopes.
no subject
What do you need that paper for?
no subject
I'm going to make fliers. I'm starting an "advice colum-n"!
no subject
Good luck. What kind of advice?
no subject
[She started folding and unfolding the paper she held, attempting (unsuccessfully) to match Yu's folding.]
Any kind of advice!

[
> With your current level of Expression, you may be able to help teach her Origami...He watches her fold with obvious interest, and then turns his paper to face her so that she'll have an easier time copying him.]
Here, try it like this.
[He also folds slower.]
no subject
[Kanji's trying to conceal his utmost happiness.]
no subject
... Folding envelopes.
no subject
But what're you doing here instead of Yasogami?
no subject
My parents moved here.
[Wait a minute... He stares incredulously at him.]
Kanji... Why aren't you in Inaba?
no subject
I thought you knew?
[He folds his arms and looks down at the floor, ashamed to admit this to his Senpai.]
I uh... failed out of Yasogami.
1/2
I didn't. ...I'm sorry.
[He frowns some more, this time because how could he not know about something that huge? After what was probably the most awkward silence in Kanji's life Yu stands up and gives him (what he hopes is) a comforting pat on the shoulder.]
Well... This is your second chance, right? You can do it.
2/2
I'll be watching you.
[... Okay, no. He's just messing with him.]
Just kidding. Do your best, all right?
no subject
Heh. Thanks, Senpai.
[He smiles sheepishly at him.]
no subject
So... How long have you been here?
no subject
.....that's about the only thing I know how to make.
[It is an awkward Hello but it is a Hello nonetheless.]
no subject
... Me too.
no subject
[An extended hand.]
Looks as though you're new. I'm Jon.
no subject
[Is he serious? Is he joking? it's a mystery. Whatever the case, he shakes Jon's hand.]
Yu Narukami.
no subject
[He's actually NOT joking.]
Where'd you transfer from, then?
no subject
[It's a completely legitimate way of finding people to him. It does raise the question "Is Jon related to a bear," but that's not important.]
Yasogami High School. It's in Inaba -- small rural town in Japan.
no subject
[His accent is a little on the thick side, after all.]
no subject
Haha, I figured. Is Capcom High much different?
no subject
[...which isn't many. But still.]
no subject
Oh... [Nod.] Yeah. I've never been to a place quite like this.
