[My goodness, what an entirely odd situation. There looks to be a girl with... rather canine additions approaching the gates, wagging her oddly long tail as she walked.

... Wait is the end of that said tail a freaking paintbrush? UH YEAH, yeah it totally is! Why, this isn't a girl at all! I mean it is but you know what I mean It's a pokemon with a horribly poor disguise of a pokemon!

And what's this?? She appears to be...

...

Singing?

Actually that sounds incredibly familiar, almost as if two vehicles could be flying across a cliff to this soundtrack.

Nah. That's just silly.

But she is singing and she is rather elated looking to be standing on this property again. Yehaw. She's completely friendly and despite the fact that she's kinda wearing a spiked collar, she's just shy of five foot and actually uh... she looks about as intimidating as a marshmallow with a toothpick sticking out of it. Oh well.]

That's the same as tapping someone's shoulder to get their attention and calling it punching them in the shoulder, the way you're making it out to be.

There's so many ways everything can go wrong in an instant, though. How can I possibly stop worrying?

You haven't met my dad! He's very big and I have to tap him on the face with both hands!

Because if you live your life like that then you'll decrease your lifespan. Keeping alert for safety is one thing, but being like that makes you super super tense and nervous and unable to enjoy most things! You gotta relax, dude!

...Like, big compared to you? Or big enough that I need to worry about getting eaten?

[He throws his arms up into the air, starting to lose his cool.] Well that's not so easy to do when I've got to run from roving squads of corpses out to kill everything they can, a giant death dragon somewhere out there a million times bigger than me, and the fate of my entire race, not to mention maybe all life period resting on my shoulders!!!!

Nah, he's about my height when he's in his normal form. His human form is like sooo much bigger though, but he's friendly. It's alright.

[... Oh boy. Her shoulders shrug a bit, staring up at him with a determined look. She's making a mess and she wants to fix it. Sigh.]

I'm a wild pokemon, you didn't know that, but you do. I'm constantly being hunted down to be captured and trained. It's not death, but... it feels like it sometimes to think about it that way. But you don't have to worry about all of that while you're here is what I'm trying to say.

Yes, those are real dangers.

... But you need to calm down.

I CAN'T!!! I just... I don't know how...!

[The only thing her telling him to calm down is really accomplishing is making his self-esteem dip even lower, since he just can't get himself to do it, even though he knows most normal people should be able to just fine, and that's just giving him even MORE anxiety... Right now he can't decide whether he wants to curl up or just bolt in the opposite direction.]

[smeargle]

[This is when she finally gets it. She slooowly drops to the ground, crossing her legs and letting her tail rest against the grass.]

Yarne, join me down here, alright? Sit down with me.

[bunnyfears]

You're probably just going to hit me again...

[He sighs, and sits down nonetheless, holding his knees to himself.]

[smeargle]

Shhh.... no I'm not, I promise.

[She's cooking up something but it's good.]

Just take a deep breath... and close your eyes.

[bunnyfears]

That's what you said last time.

[He stares at her for a few seconds, before relenting, closing his eyes again and waiting to be smacked.]

[smeargle]

But this is different.

[As gently as she can, she reaches a hand forward until her fingers touch his forehead, pressing them gently to it.]

Just keep on breathing normally and calmly, alright? Mom used to do this when I was younger.

[bunnyfears]

Uh-huh...

[He does what she says, twitching a little when she touches him but then leaning against her hand a bit as he keeps his eyes closed, just focusing on his breathing.]

[smeargle]

[Without another word, she reaches her other hand to join the one that was on his forehead. Closing her own eyes, she started to hum a little tune. Her tail twitched idly as she did so, making a soft thud on the ground as it did so.]

[bunnyfears]

[After a little bit of that, Yarne pops one of his eyes open. He's... not really sure what she's trying to accomplish by singing, but at least it's a pleasant tune? He's certainly not going to interrupt her, though, and at least he seems to be a lot calmer than he was a minute ago.]

[smeargle]

[Smee herself didn't open her eyes until she was finished with that final tune, taking another breath, her eyes fluttered open... to see him... looking confused?]

... Did it not help?

I... feel a lot calmer, actually. Not because of the song really, but... still!

[Yarne chuckles awkwardly, smiling a bit, and taking another deep breath when he starts to worry he's offended her by not being calmed by the song.]

[smeargle]

[The grin returns! She's not really the smartest dog sometimes and didn't catch on to the awkward laugh. Her hands lower, clasping together on her lap.]

But you feel calmer! That's good! Breathing really helps in times like this, just forgetting for a bit why I was freaked out. So I'm glad it helped!

[bunnyfears]

I'll try and keep that in mind next time... You know, assuming I'm not in any kind of actual danger or anything! Closing my eyes and taking a moment to breathe probably wouldn't be very helpful if something's trying to kill me!

[He seems to be making a joke rather than actually worrying about that this time, his stance relaxing and his legs stretching away from him a bit so he's not just all curled up.]

[Giggle giggle. She's happy this went back to a more relaxed thing now. It's great and that's all she wants is carefree conversation without any anxiety or fear or anything like that! In a gentle voice, she responds by sticking her tongue out.]

Duh! After the danger, of course. But for now, we can just sit here and relax on this beautiful day. Nothin' to it!

Right, right...

[Yarne sits back and starts to try to relax. Just kinda, sitting there and looking around every couple of seconds. His ears twitching a bit when he hears a bird or something. He's clearly starting to get a bit antsy.]

So, uh. How do people relax in non-apocalyptic worlds anyway? I'm not too clear on that yet.

Weeeeeeelll.....

[She drummed her fingers on her lap, drum drum drum...]

Lots of things! Walking, reading, talking, drawing, watching movies and tv, running, swimming, hiking, eating... um... singing, playing video games, playing REGULAR games, and so on and so on! There's lots of stuff to do to preoccupy your time!

Okay. That's a lot of options... So, which of those would you recommend doing right now...?

Depends on what you want to do? I'm open to doing anything!

Well, unless you happen to have some carrots with you, I guess I'm up for pretty much anything!

If you do have carrots though I'd like to eat them.

Well I'm mainly carnivorous, so that'd be a no.

[her ears perk, and she quickly looks in the satchel at her side. RIGHT THAT'S RIGHT.]
