SUDDENLY
[CONGRATULATIONS, SMASH, YOU HAVE ACQUIRED ONE [1] GYM COACH. Just roll with it. Whether you are a student or a curious passerby, there is quite a gorgeous looking fellow out by the track, surveying his new domain. Or what will be his. Eventually. The paperwork was kind of... eaten by shadow bugs. Not that he knows that..]
Surely a fighting school must only admit those with a strong fighting spirit... [Which makes this mission kind of exciting.] All right, Smash Academy, show me what you're made of!
[Is he talking to himself? Is he calling out passers-by? Has he somehow gathered a class before things are official anyway? WHO KNOWS.]

You're the strong fighting spirit? What strength your hair has!
no subject
He does appreciate the compliment on his hair, sarcasm or not. He takes damn good care of it, after all.]
And what a bold spirit you are!
[What strength those teeth have... He should probably make something clear from the get-go.]
But I'm not here to fight in the way you might be thinking.
no subject
You cannot know what I am thinking! Do not try to read my thoughts, for it is not possible.
[He waves his hands around his head, showing off a keen protective barrier. It's okay if you can't see it. It's invisible to plain eyes.]
If you are not here for a race, what ARE you here for, Goldilocks?
no subject
I am here to help, of course. Who is more in need of unlocking their hidden potential than today's youth?
[Well, lots of people, but that's why the rest of his team stayed home. Hold on, the leaves over yonder are rustling in the trees, maybe if he pauses for a second he- yes, there. A perfect dramatic breeze kicking up to set the mood and set his hair billowing out behind him.]
My job is to set their souls ablaze with hope and determination! To help them learn to help themselves and each other!
[Thank you, well-timed wind, you may go.]
There is no nobler cause.
no subject
So you're a teacher? A teacher that stops talking randomly to strike weird poses.
Are you the cheerleading teacher? I had cheerleaders once.
no subject
I'll be teaching Phys. Ed., actually, but I'm very impressed that you know I am also a cheerleader.
[There is going to be an obscene amount of cheering in his curriculum, so cheerleading teacher is kind of half right anyway...]

Asahi. I should have known--
--god, what happened to you?
[You're old, dude. You got old. Gross.]
no subject
Is that any way to--
[Whoa, hold up.]
...What happened to you? You seem shorter.
[HE'S LIKE A LITTLE BABY. And still just as green.]
no subject
[He's grown since he got here! Like a quarter inch!]
I should be surprised you didn't try and step in on our work here sooner, but if you dedicated the interim to growing out your hair, I'm shocked you got here this quickly.
no subject
But wait. If that's what the kid's remarking on, then...???]
Tell me, how old are you now?
[Guess this is what happens to people whose teams MESS WITH TIME TRAVEL.]
no subject
[...is his pre-emptive retort, in case Saionji takes it into futher bickering, but he's getting a feeling for where this is going. If he hadn't, he wouldn't have bothered including the answer at all.]
no subject
But this is going to be a real pain in the ass...]
Not at all. Age itself is no indication of skill, after all.
[Yeah. Going there.]
Greetings from your future! You don't need to worry about me stepping in on anything. Our teams work so much better together.
[You can practically hear the sparkling in ~*~together~*~.]
no subject
[How stupid do you think he is]
I mean, I knew you lot were desperate for our recognition, but I never anticipated you'd be so pathetic as to come back in time just to claim a post-emptive allegiance. I... truly overestimated your self respect, I must say.
[Yes, the time travel he accepts without question, but teamwork is just plain absurd.]
no subject
He is actually. A little bit offended.]
Quite the accusation, there. I'll excuse it, since at your young age you clearly have yet to learn what Ouendan are all about, or surely you would never be so quick to actually deny the possibility of a union for the greater good.
[What if he just doesn't even allude to the continuing existence of certain aspects of their rivalries anyway...]
no subject
no subject
I'd say it takes a much larger ego to assume that someone has gone through the trouble of time travel just for them.
[He knew it, this really is going to be nothing but a pain in the ass for him. There's no use getting into petty squabbles with some kid. Not right now, anyway.]
It's something you will come to believe in time, one way or another. Perhaps I'll prove it to you early during my stay.
[They're already in a time paradox of some sort, why not just go all the way.
BY THE WAY, YEAH, HE'S STAYING, SUCK ON THAT.]
no subject
Ego stems from desire for such attention. This is simply pattern recognition.
[Still, he has to sigh. He expects nothing of the Asahi, their pompous front man least of all, but if there's any chance of further support on this campus.... well....]
We will see where your true intention lies soon enough, I assume. I can only pray you came knowing the full extent of the needs of this academy.
no subject
[Because it clearly hasn't started yet.]
no subject
This campus breeds apathy and contentment. People strive for the bare minimum, because in the grand scheme of things it appears the best one can hope for. No one asks for help here, because all need it.
no subject
Having Hajime put it like that, it all seems... kind of bleak. Unless he's just trying to intimidate him and make him go home, which is not happening, sorry.]
What efforts have the Yuuhi made so far?
[His tone is all that sets his words apart from being an intentional jab. For now.]
no subject
A student-run cheer squad has been put in place, so any and all who wish for a venue to support their peers have a place to start. It's fledgling but its members are noble spirits.
[Just because the civilians here don't have spirit abilities like the Ouendan back home doesn't mean that a show of support, after all.]
There was an... attempt to make a stand, against the corrupt and careless who have been put in power, but the movement was quashed.
[It occurs to him that Saionji on the staff is a potential improvement, and that's just plain sad.]
no subject
[BUT THAT WOULD JUST BE SILLY.
Still though, it's good to hear there's a cheer squad in place. Hayato makes a note to check it out. Become a sponsor. All the things Hajime would just love, surely.]
no subject
You lookin' for a strong fightin' spirit? You got loads here, loads.
no subject
How wonderful to hear! But hearing alone is not enough -- show me.
no subject
[Oh my god, he liked the cut of his jib already. How to show him though?
After a moment's thought, Mac had an idea.]
Show ya, huh? You got a stage to set? A fighter's as good as a good honest spar with an opponent.
no subject
no subject
[Heeee.]
So whatcha here for anyway? Just lookin' around at the wares, huh?
