Board the Battle Subway?
[There seems to be a man just hanging around the campus. A black cap is placed precisely on his head and his matching dark coat occasionally flutters in the wind. His posture is stiff and his gaze is direct and slightly intimidating. Every so often, he pulls out a pocket watch from his coat, checks the time, and returns to his statue-like stance.

However, observing one's surroundings and staring at an unknown person are two different things.

And yet one's surroundings, the inanimate parts of nature, cannot express feelings about being stared at. Whereas people can. For example: I would appreciate it if you didn't stare so blatantly. If you wish to know more about me, it would be intuitive to ask questions. Such a thing is called a "conversation."

[Like a hands-on type of people watching? Was this guy some kind of psychologist or something? He didn't seem the type.]
And might I ask what sort of experiment you were conducting? As a participant, willing or otherwise, I believe I deserve at least some information.
