I'M A FREEEEEE BIIIIRRRRD YEAH!!
[My goodness, what an entirely odd situation. There looks to be a girl with... rather canine additions approaching the gates, wagging her oddly long tail as she walked.
... Wait is the end of that said tail a freaking paintbrush? UH YEAH, yeah it totally is! Why, this isn't a girl at all!I mean it is but you know what I mean It's a pokemon with a horribly poor disguise of a pokemon!
And what's this?? She appears to be...

Singing?
Actually that sounds incredibly familiar, almost as if two vehicles could be flying across a cliff to this soundtrack.
Nah. That's just silly.
But she is singing and she is rather elated looking to be standing on this property again. Yehaw. She's completely friendly and despite the fact that she's kinda wearing a spiked collar, she's just shy of five foot and actually uh... she looks about as intimidating as a marshmallow with a toothpick sticking out of it. Oh well.]

Of course! I've got some catching up to do, y'know? Especially in regards to training! And Papa always said there's room to grow in multiple ways, but ESPECIALLY through physical strength!

Mmhmm! He used to be a trainer's pokemon, but he ended up kickin' the trainer to the curb and leavin', but he's the toughest outta all of us!

Stories like that are one of the reasons I refuse to catch Pokémon the... ah... traditional way. No Pokémon should be forced into being trained if that's not a life they aspire to.

Understandable, if I ever get a trainer I'm never ever ever going to agree to be trapped in one of those pokeballs. [She shivered a bit, looking to the side.] ... They look crazy claustrophobic.

Aye. Riwane won't use hers either and I've no desire to make her. There's no need for her to do so in this city and in Johto there are very few places a trainer is required to have their Pokémon restrained, and those that see it as a requirement are best off avoided in my view. I think the only time we ever used hers was when we registered her as mine on the day I got my license. So, any trainer who tries to tell you that you HAVE to get inside one of those things is lying and you can tell them I said so.

Oh yeah? Now I'm curious at what cha smell like... Erm. Maybe, if that doesn't sound too creepy. [Dog behavior, I swear.]
Mmhmm, I mean especially if the trust between a human and his pokemon are high enough, they don't have to worry about say... the pokemon running away or something like that. I wouldn't if they were kind enough to me, to be fair.
But if they weren't then I'd have an easier way to bolt if they didn't use pokeballs in the first place.

Fair enough. That's one of the reasons I refuse to go the traditional way about building my team. I'd feel strange about forcing another sentient creature into my.... possession. If you can call it that. I believe that if a Pokémon is to work with a trainer, it ought to be the Pokémon's choice. And should they wish to leave, that too ought to be their choice.

I actually very much appreciate hearing that. Being as I was born in a completely different world and only achieved my trainers license at 23, I felt... somewhat on the back foot when it comes to being a trainer being most of the folk in my license exam were ten.
