Testing Blue's Acacia~

[Well, someone got out of her Pokeball when her trainer wasn't looking. This someone also apparently got her hands on an earring that could humanize her. So, now she was happily roaming around the school, taking the sights in. Her brown spiky hair cascaded down her back and resembled the quills of her Pokemon form - a Sandslash.

Humming, she wondered. Whatever shall I do?

Surprise Blue, tease her about boys... check up on Jock, make sure the fire pup was being a good boy... get the latest ~~gossip~~ news and information... Heck, while she was out, maybe she'll even enroll in the school. It was about time she joined in on the fun, yeah?]

Good morning. [She bounced the greeting back and glanced at the red figure before her. Curious little thing he was. A Pokemon? Some unidentified species?]

I'm Acacia, and you are...?

[Oh. Oh, OK. So that was how it was going to be, huh? An actual conversation? Sure. Fine. He could do that.

Probably.]

Oh. Uh. Hey. I'm Knuckles. Knuckles the Echidna.

[You'll have to excuse him. He's still kind of shy around The Ladies. Not many of them on his Island. In fact, a very round number of them. Zero.]

...it's. Uh. It's nice to meet you.

[How cute! A shy creature! The best kind to tease.

But really, what was an Echidna? She'd ask Blue later as she couldn't pass up this opportunity to mess with the opposite gender. Or all genders, actually.

She got down closer to his level.]

It's nice to meet you too! I've never met an Echidna before. Your red color is lovely and you look pretty cool. I'm a Pokemon - a Sandslash. Have you ever met one of me before?

..oh.

[What he meant to say was 'Yeah! Red is awesome!' and 'Thanks for saying I look cool!'.]

Th-thanks. Uh... I never met one before. But there's some people have said I kinda LOOK like one? I... uh. I guess?

[He took a little step back and looked her over.]

I guess you must look pretty different when you're not a Human, huh?

[Because right now he sure couldn't see the resemblance!]

Welcome! [She looked at his features. Were those quills, or hair?]

I suppose you could look like a Sandslash. [Grinning, she noted how he looked her over and quirked a brow.]

I do. Sure you're not asking just so you could check me out?

[A little of column a, a little of column b.]

Check you out? Huh? Sure. Of course. I mean, I want to know what--OH WAIT!

[Sorry. Took him a moment to catch up with the slang.]

N-not like that! I was just interested! In what a Sandslash looks like! I mean, not in That way...!

[Maybe he should just burrow into the ground and hide until she left? That seemed like a much safer course of action.]

[She burst out in laughter and laughed so hard she had to hold onto her stomach to keep herself together.

Sorry, Knuckles. That wouldn't work. She'd just transform and burrow into the ground right along with you. There's no escaping her. Not when she's taken a keen interest in you.]

Don't worry. [She almost choked trying to stifle a laugh.] I'm interested in you too.

[She paused for dramatic effect. Would he freak?]

...to see what you look like as a human. You can do that, right? Tell you what. I'll transform if you transform.

[He really wasn't a huge fan of being laughed at. Buuuut, he DID kind of shove his big, colorful boot wearing foot in his mouth, didn't he? He just sort of.... stood there till she was done and wanted to talk again.]

Oh. Nope. I haven't figured that whole.... thing out yet.

[He just hadn't thought it was necessary, really. Not yet, anyway.]

If you don't wanna change, you don't gotta. I didn't mean to sound weird or anythin', you know.

[Aw, did she upset him? She couldn't have that now. Not when he was being so adorable.]

I see. That's too bad - that I won't be able to see the difference now. When you do figure it out, I'd love to see how you look, Knuckles.

And it's no trouble at all to transform. [She flicked her earring.] I use this beautiful little piece of jewelry to help me. Maybe you could get something similar? Some piercings would look really cool on you.

[She thought for a moment before continuing.]

If I transform now, would you be able to understand me? Like, can you understand Pokemon when they speak?

[Don't take it personally. He's actually just pretty easy to rile up!]

....well. Maybe one day I'll give it a try.

[Being the last Echidna, he was kind of attached to this form. Still, he could give it a shot. Not like it was permanent or anything.

....besides. She said he'd look cool with piercings. It wasn't really that often that anyone told him he'd look cool so that kind of softened him up to the idea.]

Nope, I can't understand Pokémon. It kinda sounds like they're sayin' bits of their name over and over. At least, when they talk. I can understand like... gestures and stuff. You know, non-verbal communication.

Then, just a quickie will do.

[Briefly enveloped with a bright light, her form changed into that of a smaller stature. Shorter than him, actually, by four inches.]

Sandslash. [She slowly spun around so he could get a real good look at her.

Feast your eyes on her, Knuckles. She likes the attention.]

[...oh. Ooooooh!

He could totally see it, now!]

Yeah! Hey, nice! You got spines - woah, and badass claws! Sweet!

[Don't mind him just kind of wandering around you, taking a good look. Hey, at least he's not awkward or annoyed anymore?]

I bet you fight pretty well, too!

[He sure knew what to say to her! All the compliments were shooting her confidence sky high. It had her pumped up.]

Hell yeah! You better bet I'm pretty badass! [She let him take a good look some more before changing back. It wasn't really all that fun to talk when you couldn't be understood completely.]

Damn right, I fight well. [she said from her seat on the ground in front of him.] You've got good eyes. And maybe mad skills, too? Let's have a good match someday when I'm enrolled. How 'bout it?

Heck yeah! You got a deal!

[He held out a big, gloved hand.]

I bet we have an awesome match - I'll be lookin' forward to it!

[Look at that. You made a new friend already, Acacia. And all it took was the offer of beating the stuffing out of one another! ....to be fair, Knuckles isn't exactly typical in the way he makes friends.]

Lookin' forward to it too! [She gave him a firm shake and stood up.] Well, then, I think I better go before my trainer starts to worry about me. ...if she hasn't already. It was really nice meeting you, Knuckles! I'll be seein' you around.

[She gave him a little wink.]

[He winked back, waving her a goodbye.]

It was great meeting you, too! Keep in touch!
