"In my image...how worthless. What i seek is the ultimate, that which we must ALL aspire to. There will be nothing so meaningless as self-centeredness, no egotism, no conceit. There will be only the perfection of a world without spirit. Only then," he snapped, "can we be free of our bonds and live unburdened."
With a quick glare, a subtle move that barely altered his usual expression, he added "You delight in that burden. Though I will rule, it will not be for myself. I will serve that perfection. You would do so for your own gratitude."
Eggman waved his hand dismissively. "All I'm hearing is that you think you're perfect and that everyone should be like you," he scoffed. "How PATHETIC! At least I have the RESOURCES to make my vision real! You just have your words!"
Cyrus waved his hand. "No human is perfect. We are inherently flawed, and that is why I do this. I will become perfect, and bring about the creation of that once thought impossible."
Only his words? How naïve. Though his followers were isolated to the Sinnoh region and had greatly reduced in number, they were, to Cyrus, adequate for the time being.
That was a memory Cyrus wanted rid of. He had no emotions, but he had no control over himself, and could only watch as his body was controlled like a puppet.
"I refuse. Perfection cannot come from one like you, I repeat again. It is meaningless besides, to achieve that ascendance without a greater goal."
From an extremely literal standpoint it was a true statement. But Cyrus wasn't about to fall into that trap. "Linguistically you may be correct, provided one uses 'greater' to simply mean larger. However, you are full aware that I speak of greater as something beyond this, some ultimate freedom from our shackles."

He was entirely serious about that.

It was just like old times.
